Event Details

This course is an introductory course on the Arabic language. It is the first in a series of Arabic language courses meant to take the student from ground zero to a proficient knowledge and usage of the Arabic language. The course will begin with a quick revision of the recognition and writing of the Arabic alphabets before the instructor discusses the fundamentals of the Arabic language. The course is based on a  classical understanding of the Arabic language as found in the Qur'an, and the Modern Standard Arabic. There will be several student assessments to monitor students progress.

Course Requirements
Students must be familiar with the Arabic script and are able to read the Arabic script. Ability to write the Arabic script will be an advantage. No other knowledge, exposure or familiarity is required. For those who have no basic reading ability, please register for the SimplyArabic - Reading & Writing Course.  Students completing this course may undertake the SimplyArabic Beginners 2 course.

About the Teacher
Ustaz Mohamed Abla was born in Morocco and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Islamic Law) from Hassan II Mohammedia University in Morocco.  He is now a Singapore citizen and an accredited Asatizah ceritifed by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore and the Asatizah Recognition Board.  He spent 6 years in Malaysia's Pusat Ulumuddin in Kedah Malaysia as an Arabic language teacher and Vice-Principal.  He subsequently taught at Masjid En-Naeem in Singapore for several years, before joining SimplyIslam.sg in 2007 as its Arabic Language Consultant and Islamic Architecture Consultant.  Ustaz Mohamed also conducts regular interpretation assignments for seminars involving Arab trainees from Qatar, Bahrain, etc.  He is also fluent in Malay and English.
